						<section><p>A certificate of release filed or recorded with the <span class="dictionary">clerk of court</span> in the <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> in which the <span class="dictionary">property</span> is located, provided that such certificate of release satisfies all the requirements prescribed in &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Certificate of release and affidavit of settlement agent" href="/55.1-3102/">55.1-3102</a>, shall operate as a release of a <span class="dictionary">judgment lien</span> of the specified <span class="dictionary">property</span>. Such certificate of release shall not be construed to release any other real <span class="dictionary">property</span> owned by the <span class="dictionary">judgment debtor</span> or <span class="dictionary">judgment debtors</span> at the time of filing or any future interest in real <span class="dictionary">property</span> acquired by such <span class="dictionary">judgment debtor</span> or <span class="dictionary">judgment debtors</span>. In the absence of gross <span class="dictionary">negligence</span> or willful misconduct, the clerk of the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> court of any <span class="dictionary">jurisdiction</span> shall be immune from civil liability arising from any act or omission relating to such clerk&#x2019;s compliance with the provisions of this chapter.</p></section></text><history>2023, c. 550.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
