						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">Commission</span> may impose a civil <span class="dictionary">penalty</span> not exceeding $2,500 upon any <span class="dictionary">person</span> who it determines, in proceedings commenced in accordance with the <span class="dictionary">Commission</span>&#x2019;s Rules, has violated any of the provisions of this chapter or regulations adopted by the <span class="dictionary">Commission</span> pursuant thereto or violated any other <span class="dictionary">law</span> or regulation applicable to conduct of the <span class="dictionary">person</span>&#x2019;s business. For the purposes of this section, each separate violation shall be subject to the civil <span class="dictionary">penalty</span> prescribed in this section, and each day that an unlicensed <span class="dictionary">person</span> engages in the business of a <span class="dictionary"><span class="dictionary">qualified education loan</span> servicer</span> shall constitute a separate violation.</p></section></text><history>2020, cc. 1198, 1250.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
