						<section><p>After the expiration of twelve months from the date of the entry of the last order upon a <span class="dictionary">petition</span> for adoption, except when the last order entered is a <span class="dictionary">final order</span> of adoption, it shall be the responsibility of the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> to notify the clerk of the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span> of all adoption cases that have been pending for a period of more than twelve months, and the clerk of the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span> shall place on the <span class="dictionary">docket</span> all such cases for review by the <span class="dictionary">circuit</span> <span class="dictionary">court</span> as soon as practicable.</p></section></text><history>1976, c. 353, &#xA7; 63.1-230.1; 2000, c. 830, &#xA7; 63.1-219.21; 2002, c. 747.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
