						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">Department</span> may establish and operate an <span class="dictionary">arrears</span> compromise program pursuant to which it may compromise <span class="dictionary">child</span> support <span class="dictionary">arrears</span> and interest accrued thereon owed to the Commonwealth for reimbursement of <span class="dictionary">public assistance</span> paid.
