						<section><p>Interest at the <span class="dictionary">judgment</span> interest rate as established by &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Judgment rate of interest" href="/6.2-302/">6.2-302</a> on any arrearage pursuant to an <span class="dictionary">order</span> being enforced by the <span class="dictionary">Department</span> pursuant to this chapter shall be collected by the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> except in the case of a <span class="dictionary">minor</span> <span class="dictionary">obligor</span> during the period of his minority. The <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> shall maintain interest balance due accounts. In accordance with &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Arrears compromise program" href="/63.2-1908.1/">63.2-1908.1</a>, the <span class="dictionary">Commissioner</span> may compromise interest on <span class="dictionary">debt</span> owed to the Commonwealth for reimbursement of <span class="dictionary">public assistance</span> paid.</p></section></text><history>1974, c. 413, &#xA7; 63.1-267; 1976, c. 357; 1995, c. 483; 2002, c. 747; 2015, c. 506.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
