						<section><p>The <span class="dictionary">local director</span> and other employees shall serve at the pleasure of the <span class="dictionary">local board</span>, or other appointing authority, subject to the provisions of the <span class="dictionary">merit system plan</span> as defined in &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Definitions" href="/63.2-100/">63.2-100</a>.
