						<section><p>Any individual applying for or receiving benefits under the federal Food Stamp program or the <span class="dictionary">Temporary Assistance for Needy Families</span> program may be denied such benefits in accordance with federal <span class="dictionary">law</span> if such person is found by a <span class="dictionary">court</span> or pursuant to an administrative <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> to have intentionally (i) made a false or misleading statement or misrepresented, concealed or withheld <span class="dictionary">facts</span>, or (ii) committed any act intended to mislead, misrepresent, conceal or withhold <span class="dictionary">facts</span> or propound a falsity, for the purpose of establishing or maintaining eligibility for such benefits.
		The <span class="dictionary">Board</span> is authorized to adopt regulations governing conduct of administrative <span class="dictionary">hearings</span> and denial of benefits authorized by this section.</p></section></text><history>1989, c. 373, &#xA7; 63.1-124.2; 1992, c. 189; 2002, c. 747.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
