						<section><p>It shall not be lawful for any <span class="dictionary">employer</span> to deduct from the wages of any of his employees any part of the cost of insurance as provided for in &#xA7;&#xA0;<a class="law" title="Insurance or proof of financial ability to pay required" href="/65.2-801/">65.2-801</a> to insure liability, or to require or permit any of his employees to contribute in any manner toward such cost of insurance. For any violation of the provisions of this section, an <span class="dictionary">employer</span> shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $100 for each <span class="dictionary">offense</span> and shall refund to the individual employee the amount or amounts deducted or contributed. The fine herein provided may be assessed and the refund ordered by the Workers&#x2019; Compensation <span class="dictionary">Commission</span> in an open <span class="dictionary">hearing</span> with the right of review and <span class="dictionary">appeal</span> as in other cases.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 65-103; 1968, c. 660, &#xA7; 65.1-107; 1991, c. 355.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
