						<section id="A"><p><span class="prefix-number">A.</span> A <span class="dictionary">defendant</span> who pleads a <span class="dictionary">counterclaim</span> or <span class="dictionary">cross-claim</span> shall be deemed to have brought an <span class="dictionary">action</span> at the time he files such pleading. <a id="paragraph-253671" class="section-permalink" href="https://vacode.org/8.01-233/#A"><i class="fa fa-link"/></a></p></section>
