						<section><p>Any <span class="dictionary">person</span> before whom a <span class="dictionary">witness</span> is to be examined may administer an <span class="dictionary">oath</span> to such <span class="dictionary">witness</span>. In addition, a clerk or deputy clerk may administer an <span class="dictionary">oath</span> to a <span class="dictionary">witness</span> in the presence and at the direction of a <span class="dictionary">judge</span> before whom the <span class="dictionary">witness</span> is to be examined.</p></section></text><history>Code 1950, &#xA7; 8-294; 1977, c. 617; 1984, c. 536.</history><metadata></metadata></law>
