As used in this chapter, unless the context requires a different meaning: “Check casher” means a person engaged in the business of cashing checks, drafts, or money orders for compensation. “Item” means a check, draft, or money order. “Registrant” means a person registered under this chapter. “Registration” means a registration filed under this chapter.
