MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND OFFICES (§ 15.2-1230)

The governing body of any county may require monthly financial reports from any
officer or office of the county or of any district thereof and may investigate
bills and receipts of any county or district officer, and for these purposes may
subpoena witnesses, administer oaths and require the production of books, papers
and other evidence. Any witness who fails or refuses to obey any such lawful
order of the governing body shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
