PAYMENTS INTO COURT (§ 21-343)

The court may, from time to time, order the petitioners to pay into court, or as
the court may direct, such amounts at a flat rate per acre according to the area
owned by each within the bounds of the district as may be necessary to pay costs
and expenses theretofore accrued, such amount to be repaid from the drainage
fund to the petitioners in equal sums as were received together with interest
thereon at the rate of six per centum per annum by order of the court when, and
if the bonds of the district are sold, or the drainage fund otherwise provided
and such order to pay into court when entered, shall have the force and effect
of a judgment, and it shall be docketed in the judgment docket of the court of
the county in which the petition was filed by the clerk thereof, if not paid
within thirty days from the entry of the order. Ten days&#8217; notice, however,
shall be given by the clerk to each person affected thereby, of such order of
the court.
