MEETINGS OF PEOPLE OF SCHOOL DIVISION; LOCAL COMMITTEES (§ 22.1-86)

It shall be the duty of each school board to call meetings of the people of the
school division for consultation in regard to the school interests thereof when
deemed necessary by the school board. The chairman, if present, or, if not, some
other member of the school board shall preside at such meetings.
		Each school board is authorized to appoint a committee of not less than three
nor more than seven members for each public school in the school division. The
committee&#8217;s duty shall be to advise the members of the school board with
reference to matters pertaining to the school and to cooperate with the school
board in the care of the school property and in the successful operation of the
school. Such committee shall serve without compensation.
