POLLING PLACES; PROHIBITED AREA; EMERGENCY SITUATIONS (§ 24.2-604.2)

If an emergency causes the dimensions of the prohibited area for a polling place
to be perceived as increasing the risk of danger for persons outside the polling
place, the electoral board may modify the distance requirements for the
prohibited area, subject to the prior approval of the State Board. For purposes
of this section, an &#8220;emergency&#8221; includes a state of emergency
declared by the Governor pursuant to Chapter 3.2 (§ 44-146.13 et seq.) of Title
44 or declared by the President of the United States.
