EMPLOYMENT OF ATTORNEY TO DEFEND BOARD MEMBERS, EMPLOYEE, ETC (§ 32.1-29)

If the Commissioner, any Board member or any officer or employee of the
Department is arrested, indicted or otherwise prosecuted on any criminal charge
arising out of any act committed in the discharge of his duties as such, the
Commissioner may employ an attorney approved by the Attorney General to defend
such person. The compensation for such attorney shall, subject to the approval
of the Attorney General, be paid out of the funds appropriated for the
administration of the Department.
