CONTESTABILITY OF REINSTATED POLICY (§ 38.2-3109)

Reinstatement of a life insurance policy shall not affect the running of the
contestable period except as provided in this section. A life insurance policy
reinstated after July 1, 1986, regardless of whether the original policy was
issued before or after July 1, 1986, shall be contestable on account of fraud or
misrepresentation of any material fact pertaining to the reinstatement contained
in a written application for reinstatement, or in any written statement
supplemental to the application for reinstatement, only for the same period
after reinstatement as the policy provides for contestability after original
issue.
