FLASHING AMBER WARNING LIGHTS ON CERTAIN FOX HUNTING VEHICLES (§ 46.2-1025.1)

A. For the purposes of this section, a &#8220;road whip&#8221; is a vehicle
operator guiding or assisting with a hunt under the direction of a hunt master.

B. During a fox hunt, a road whip for a hunt organization exempt from federal
taxation pursuant to &#xA7; 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code that is a member
in good standing of the Masters of Foxhounds Association of North America may
use a vehicle equipped with flashing amber warning lights for the purpose of
warning other vehicles of such fox hunt happening in the area. Such road whip
shall be (i) at least 21 years of age; (ii) in possession of a valid Virginia
driver&#8217;s license; (iii) an experienced member of such hunt organization;
(iv) aware of the land being used for such hunt; (v) knowledgeable of the path
the hunt may take and any highway where vehicles, hunters, horses, or hounds may
be present; and (vi) under the supervision of the masters of the hunt, including
having global positioning system (GPS) location monitoring and radio
communication with such masters of the hunt or other hunting staff. Each such
hunt may authorize such flashing amber warning lights on no more than two
vehicles operated by such road whips per hunt. Any vehicle using flashing amber
warning lights as authorized in this section shall display a sign on the rear of
such vehicle that reads &#8220;Horse Crossing With Rider&#8221; in print large
enough for a passing motorist to read. No flashing amber warning lights
authorized pursuant to this section may be used while such vehicle is in motion.
