KEEP TO THE RIGHT IN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS OR RAILROADS (§ 46.2-803)

Except as otherwise provided by law, when crossing an intersection of highways
or the intersection of a highway by a railroad right-of-way, the driver of a
vehicle shall drive on the right half of the roadway unless it is obstructed or
impassable. When crossing an intersection of highways, however, the driver of a
vehicle may overtake or pass another vehicle in the intersection if such
intersection is designated and marked as a passing zone.
