PAY FOR UNITED STATES PRISONERS (§ 53.1-90)

Each sheriff or jail superintendent shall collect from the United States, for
prisoners of the United States confined in the jail of his county, city or
region, such amounts as shall be agreed upon by the governing body of the county
or city or, in the case of a regional jail, the regional jail authority or, if
none, the body responsible for the fiscal management of the regional jails and
the appropriate authorities of the Government of the United States, which
amounts shall not be less than the actual cost of feeding, clothing, caring for
and furnishing medicine and medical attention for such prisoners.
