DISPOSITION OF MONEY COLLECTED FROM UNITED STATES OR OTHER COUNTIES, CITIES OR
TOWNS (§ 53.1-92)

All moneys so collected by such sheriff from the United States or from any such
county, city, town, state or country shall be promptly paid into the treasury of
his county or city. The total amount so collected shall be retained by such
county or city. All moneys so collected by jail superintendents shall be
promptly paid into the treasury of the regional jail authority or, if none, the
body responsible for the fiscal management of the regional jail.
