LIEN OF SUBSEQUENT PURCHASER FOR PURCHASE MONEY PAID BEFORE NOTICE (§ 55.1-413)

As against any person claiming under the deed or other writing that has not been
recorded before payment by a subsequent purchaser for valuable consideration of
the whole or a part of his purchase money, such subsequent purchaser,
notwithstanding such deed or other writing recorded before he becomes a complete
purchaser, shall have a lien on the property purchased by him for so much of his
purchase money as he may have paid before notice of such lien.
