COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES (§ 63.2-310)

Each member of the local board of a county or a city or of a district shall be
paid his reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in attendance at meetings
and while otherwise engaged in the discharge of his duties. In addition to such
expenses, the governing body of each city or county may, out of its general
fund, pay to each member of the local board, as compensation for his services,
an amount to be fixed by the governing body of such city or county. No such
county or city shall be reimbursed out of either state or federal funds for any
part of such compensation paid.
