RELEASE OF FURTHER CLAIMS (§ 8.01-195.8)

Notwithstanding any provision of this article, the liability for any claim or
judgment cognizable under this article shall be conditioned upon the execution
by the claimant of a release of all claims against the Commonwealth, its
political subdivisions, agencies, and instrumentalities or against the
transportation district, and against any officer or employee of the Commonwealth
or the transportation district in connection with, or arising out of, the
occurrence complained of.
