§ 13.1-1008 Purposes

Every limited liability company formed under this chapter has the purpose of engaging in any lawful business, purpose, or activity, whether or not such business, purpose, or activity is carried on for profit, except as otherwise provided by the law of this Commonwealth, unless a more limited purpose is set forth in the articles of organization.

History

This law was first created in 1991. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 168 of that year’s edition of “Acts of Assembly,” the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1991 “Acts” aren’t available online. It has been modified 3 times. Those modifications are cataloged by “The Acts of Assembly,” a state publication, by year and chapter. Those modifications that can be read on the General Assembly’s website will be linked accordingly. Those modifications are as follows: in 1992, chapter 574; in 2002, chapter 288; in 2004, chapter 601.

1991, c. 168; 1992, c. 574; 2002, c. 288; 2004, c. 601.
