§ 13.1-516 Misleading filings
It shall be unlawful for any person willfully to make or cause to be made, in any document filed with the Commission or in any proceeding under this chapter, any statement which is, at the time and in the light of the circumstances in which it is made, false or misleading in any material respect.
History
This law was first created in 1956. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 428 of that year’s edition of “Acts of Assembly,” the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1956 “Acts” aren’t available online.
