History
This law was first created in 1970. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 779 of that year’s edition of “Acts of Assembly,” the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1970 “Acts” aren’t available online. It has been modified 10 times. Those modifications are cataloged by “The Acts of Assembly,” a state publication, by year and chapter. Those modifications that can be read on the General Assembly’s website will be linked accordingly. Those modifications are as follows: in 1972, chapters 568 and 708; in 1973, chapters 523 and 546; in 1974, chapters 353 and 484; in 1975, chapter 597; in 1976, chapters 374 and 678; in 1978, chapter 841; in 1984, chapter 430; in 1990, chapter 832; in 1993, chapter 895; in 2010, chapters 737 and 738.
