§ 8.01-379.2 Jury instructions
A proposed jury instruction submitted by a party, which constitutes an accurate statement of the law applicable to the case, shall not be withheld from the jury solely for its nonconformance with the model jury instructions.
History
This law was first created in 1992. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 522 of that year’s edition of “Acts of Assembly,” the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1992 “Acts” aren’t available online.
