§ 19.2-263.1 Contact between judge and juror prohibited
No judge shall communicate in any way with a juror in a criminal proceeding concerning the juror’s conduct or any aspect of the case during the course of the trial outside the presence of the parties or their counsel.
History
This law was first created in 1985. The record of its establishment is cataloged in chapter 176 of that year’s edition of “Acts of Assembly,” the annual state publication listing all changes made to the Code of Virginia in that year. Unfortunately, the 1985 “Acts” aren’t available online.
